No. 01 — The Origin

From the forests and hills of Rukiri Subcounty.

Rukiri Subcounty sits in the green highlands of Ibanda District, western Uganda — a quiet country of banana groves, coffee gardens, eucalyptus stands, and pockets of indigenous forest. Mist rolls down the slopes most mornings before nine.

Our bees forage freely across this landscape. The honey they make is dark, complex and full-bodied — a true taste of the place. Nothing is added. Nothing is taken away. Just pure honey, the way it has always been.

Pure honey ready to enjoy ON YOUR TABLE
i.
The hives
Our hives are placed across Rukiri Subcounty — in shaded groves, near banana plantations, and along the forest edge. The bees forage freely on the wild blossoms of Ibanda's highlands.
YEAR-ROUND
ii.
The harvest
When the combs are full and capped, our beekeepers gently smoke the hive and remove only the fully-ripe frames. The rest is always left for the colony to live on.
SEASONAL · BY HAND
iii.
Gentle extraction
The honey is extracted slowly, never heated, never filtered through fine mesh. It keeps its natural enzymes, its pollen, and its full, dark flavour.
SAME WEEK
iv.
Settle & pack
The honey rests until any wax has risen. We then hand-fill each food-grade jerrycan, seal it, and label it for delivery across Uganda.
READY TO SHIP

We started Rukiri Honey to share something real — the true natural taste of our forests and hills — with everyone in Uganda and beyond.
